This five-week intensive series offers long-term care professionals an in-depth understanding of the regulatory requirements and processes involved when an Immediate Jeopardy (IJ) has been cited. Tips and strategies will be shared for writing an IJ removal plan and subsequent Plans of Corrections (PoCs), as well as for preparing for the IJ removal and revisit surveys that follow. Sessions 3 through 5 focus on the most commonly cited IJ issues: Abuse, Infection Control, and Accidents/Incidents, with best practices for risk reduction in these areas.
Oct. 14 - Writing the Immediate Jeopardy Removal Plan
Discover critical components and timeframes for an IJ removal plan that will improve the likelihood of survey agency approval, as well as expedite the IJ removal survey revisit process. Vital information for developing an IJ removal plan to prove past jeopardy also will be explored.
Oct. 21 - Preparing for the Immediate Jeopardy Revisit and the Plan of Correction
Dive into preparing for the IJ revisit, developing a credible and compliant Plan of Correction (PoC), organizing supporting evidence, and demonstrating lasting systemic change. Learn practical strategies to avoid common pitfalls, ensure survey readiness, and build confidence that your facility is prepared to successfully close out the IJ.
Oct. 28 - Addressing an Immediate Jeopardy Related to Abuse
This presentation will focus on the essential components of an IJ removal plan for deficiencies cited for abuse. Critical components and timeframes of an abuse-related IJ removal will be discussed with actual deficiency examples. Attendees will receive vital information for developing an IJ removal plan to prove past jeopardy.
Nov. 4 - Addressing an Immediate Jeopardy Related to Infection Control
This session will highlight the essential components of an IJ removal plan for deficiencies cited for infection control. Critical components and timeframes of infection control-related IJ removal will be discussed with actual deficiency examples and practical guidance to improve compliance.
Nov. 11 - Addressing an Immediate Jeopardy Related to Accidents/Incidents
Explore essential components of an Immediate Jeopardy removal plan for deficiencies cited for accidents and incidents. Critical components and timeframes of accident/incident IJ removal will be discussed with actual deficiency examples. Attendees will receive vital information for developing an accident/incident IJ removal plan to prove past jeopardy.
